Employee plan offers

The majority of the MUFG Corporate Markets-administered companies had their employee offers managed via the MUFG Corporate Markets Investor Centre and app. Many also opt for us to build a customised website to enhance the engagement and participation in the offers. Below are some of the key takeaways in relation to the quantum, length of offer period and offer type.

Type of online offer

  • Currency value offers in AUD, USD, GBP, JPY, EUR, MYR, CAD, NZD are the most common.
  • Exercise Price and Nil price options
  • Restricted shares and units
  • Performance rights

Over 345,000 employees received offers to participate in an equity incentive plan in the last 12 months.

Offer period

On average the companies have a 3-4 week offer period. The offer period is driven by number of factors such as employee location, offer complexity and type. Typically, a contribution plan offer period is longer than an LTI plan offer as employees require more time to understand the plan and associated risk.

The largest online offer managed by our team was to 87,000+ participants.

Acceptance methodology

A third of the offers were made on an opt out basis.

Type of offer

Most offers were made in units based on a set methodology to calculate the entitlements.
Volume-weighted average price over 5,10 or 20 days are popular for calculating long term incentive awards.
